First Impressions Community Exchange
During the October 2017 Committee of a Whole meeting, a presentation was given on the results obtained by a team from Haliburton in the First Impressions Community Exchange (FICE) program. The FICE is run by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) and provides an opportunity for communities to see how they are perceived by first time visitors. Volunteer teams from partnered exchange communities conduct an unannounced visit acting as tourists and record their observations on community entrances, downtown amenities, community services and tourist attractions.
