I would like to thank everyone for participating in this years Six Mile Lake Fishing Derby. A big thank you to all of those who were able to make it to Six Mile Lake Marina on Labour Day weekend to attend the Trophy Ceremony.
The 2019 Fishing Derby awards went to the following anglers:
Largest Bass – 19″ – Smitty
Largest Walleye – 27.5″ – Ryan Hosford
Largest Pike – 32.5″ – James Lee
Most outstanding – 10″ Sunfish – Julia Kroman
Junior Angler – Hailey Pettipere
Most Total Inches – 610″ – Smitty
A special thank you to the Six Mile Lake Ratepayers Alliance (SMLRA) for donating tape-measures, webspace, collection of fees, and time to assist me with organization of this event. Without their assistance, this event would not have been able to be put on. I have said it before and will say it again, the SMLRA does wonderful work within our community, and if you are not members, I suggest reaching out to anyone on their Board to further understand what they are about. The SMLRA provided me the means to host this Derby, and I cannot thank them enough for the privilege to be involved within our community at this capacity.
Individuals who should be recognized for going above and beyond assisting me with this event are Audrey Hartjes, Karen Petrie, and ‘Beanie’ Wilson.
