SML Official Plan – Update

Dec 14/21

The SMLRA board is happy to announce progress regarding changes to the Six Mile Lake official plan. We have come to an agreement with the SMLCA on how to move forward. Our goal from the beginning was to make sure all property owners know how changes to the official plan will effect them when it comes to applying for a building permit. What you read below is a very important step. The SMLRA board encourages all members to be part of the Zoom presentation. We will send more details as it gets closer to the meeting. The board would like to thank all the members for your support.

Yours Truly

Directors of SMLRA

Hi All,

We believe we have good news regarding progress with both SML associations working together for a joint submission of GFA recommendations to the township. The following are points we have agreed upon regarding the process.

1. We will have a joint lake-wide meeting on Zoom to present the results of both Todd’s and Victoria’s findings.

2.Todd will call Victoria as soon as possible, so that the two of them can explore common points. Perhaps some commonalities will come forth. Nevertheless, if he and she have differing viewpoints, they have an opportunity to present them independently at the meeting.

3. We will pre-register attendees to ensure that they are landowners, and so that we can follow up by canvassing them to determine their preference of options presented.

3. After that, Todd and Victoria can then collate the results of the meeting. The two associations will review the findings, sign off and send everything to the Director of Planning at GB Township.

5. The two associations will get together to work out the details of the meeting and how to communicate it to the lake.

6. In order to get this done as soon as possible, we will need to have the presentations ready by mid-January if we are going to have a meeting in mid-February. We intend to send the presentations to all registered participants ahead of the meeting to allow all to be fully informed.

Thank you everyone for your patience.”

Regards,
